Death Punch
From UltimateMK.com
The "Death Punch" is the name of a glitch that can occur in Mortal Kombat II and, to a very limited extent, Mortal Kombat.
Mortal Kombat II
In Mortal Kombat II, a death punch occurs when an attacker's punch collides with an opponent after the punch has reached the attack frame. When you punch, your character extends their fist, then, if it doesn't hit anything, the character holds the last frame of the punch before retracting the punch. For the frames of the character holding the punch out, if the opponent collides with it, the Hot Box does not disable on contact as its supposed to, and the punch registers as multiple punches as it repeatedly detects the same collision once every tick.
It is possible to get a death punch on someone when they are on the ground, but the easiest and most useful form of it is to do a correctly time aaHP against an opponent jumping towards you.
The death punch can register as anything from 2 to 5 punches. Because it registers as multiple punches, comboing after a death punch is affected by hit limits. For instance, if you get a death punch followed by a jump kick, you will fall down from the jump kick since it registered the death punch as numerous punches. If the death punch registers as enough punches it can cause push back. This push back can be canceled with special moves to allow for extended juggling.
