Differences from Arcade

  • The SNES version of Mortal Kombat was censored. Instead of red blood, grey sweat flew off of characters when they were hit. Also, some of the fatalities were editted to make them less violent.
  • Input detection was sluggish on the SNES. It was very easy to tap U, U at any point in the game without the character actually jumping.

Gameplay

Gameplay in the SNES version was very different from the arcade. Moves were almost all the same in SNES as they were in the arcade, so the Mortal Kombat character guides can be used for moves and general gameplay tips, but character ranking and specific strategy will be different because of the many differences betweenv versions.
