Rain appears as a Male Ninja in the demo mode of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. He is not playable as an actual character.

Influencing Rain's Actions

The few actions you can see Rain doing in the demo mode for UMK3 can be influenced slightly. If the last thing that happened in the game was a person beating the game, Rain will do things like run at his opponent and attack or go into his victory stance. If the last thing that happened was a player lost and did not continue, Rain will fall over dead in different parts of the demo.

Rumors and Fanlore

There were many rumors about being able to play as Rain in the arcade. They mostly stem from various hints. There is a code [{Versus Screen]] code that displays a message on the bottom of the screen saying "Rain Can Be Found In The Graveyard". On the Graveyard level, there was a headstone with "RAIN" written on it. Despite the rumors, you cannot play as Rain in the arcade version of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Rain was added as a playable character in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (SNES) and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Genesis) as well as Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the Playstation, Nintendo 64, and PC.
